Building
The Chapel is the only non-denominational chapel in the university and boasts two Piper widows as
well as a Frobenius organ. The college was founded in 1981 by Sir David Robinson. The buildings
were designed by the Glasgow firm of Gillespie, Kidd & Coia who planned the college around the
original gardens of ten properties. The modern brick building, which houses most of the college,
therefore sits within the preserved gardens that maintain much of the original planting of their
owners: magnificnet mature trees, yew hedges, herbaceous borders, bulbs, aquilega as well as a new
wild woodland water garden at the centre of the site.
