Music
Organist & Master of the Choristers
Richard Moorhouse

Choir
The Cathedral Choir consists of boys, lay clerks and choral scholars. The boys are awarded
scholarships at the flourishing and prestigious cathedral school, now the only remaining Anglican
choir school in Wales and part of the Woodard Corporation. The Cathedral Parish Choir consists of
boys, girls, men and women who sing the Sunday Parish Communion at 9.00 and Compline at 18.30.
Organ
A new organ, with 4,870 new pipes, by Nicholson's has been commissioned and is due for completion
by 2010. This will be the largest 'from scratch' project undertaken by a British cathedral for many
years and should put the cathedral firmly on the musical map of South Wales when completed.
Cathedral of Llandaff, Cardiff
Dean & Vicar
The Very Revd John Lewis

Building
The cathedral dates from 1107 and its West front of 1220 is a rare example of very fine medieval
work. Other early work surviving is the 13th century Chapter House and Lady Chapel, whilst the
Victorians added the South West Tower and Spire. Inside it is Sir Jacob Epstein's Christ in Majesty
on George Pace's re-inforced concrete arch, between the Nave and the Choir, that arrests the eye.
