Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols - The Choir of King's College, Cambridge
The most famous of all the seasonal radio broadcasts is the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols by the choir of King's College, Cambridge. First held on Christmas Eve 1918. the service was first broadcast in 1928, and with the exception of 1930, has been broadcast annually. The service is broadcast on Radio 4 at 3.00 pm on Christmas Eve and usually repeated on Radio 3 on Christmas Day in the afternoon.
